When was the last time you left your comfort zone? Can we even define a comfort zone now? What used to be comforting; going out with friends, de-stressing at the gym, even wandering a favorite store is fraught with anxiety. Will we be exposed to COVID? Will we be judged if we wear a mask? Will we be judged if we don’t wear a mask? Will I catch COVID? Will I get COVID and not know it and bring it home to immuno-compromised loved ones?
How we long for normalcy. And the comfort zone of normal; the old normal, not the new normal. Meanwhile, we don our masks (or we don’t), and venture forth because to not do so means to stagnate and that’s no comfort at all.
